Sam Outlaw is a country singer living in Los Angeles.
He was born in South Dakota and ‘Outlaw’ is his mother’s maiden name.
Sam writes original songs that seek to capture the spirit of the classic country and rock music he learned from his favorite singers and songwriters, such as Don Williams, James Taylor, Gene Watson, Keith Whitley, Tom Petty and Gram Parsons.
While still relatively new to the scene a lot has happened in only two short years.
2014 saw the release of Sam’s self-released EP and regular live appearances throughout Southern California. Buzz from these performances earned him a slot at the 2014 Stagecoach Festival in the Coachella Valley, followed by his Nashville debut at the world-renowned live music showcase, Music City Roots - and later that year - AmericanaFest.
In late 2014 returned home to Los Angeles to record his debut full-length album, "Angeleno" produced by roots music legend Ry Cooder.
The record was released June 9th, 2015 to critical acclaim (Six Shooter Records / Thirty Tigers) with major outlets such as Rolling Stone, NPR and The Guardian placing the album on their ‘best of’ lists for the year.
2016 is proving to be the busiest so far.
Sam has already completed an extensive U.S. tour as well as international headlining tours in Australia, Scandinavia, England and Spain. Most recently, the L.A. Times premiered Sam’s music video for “Angeleno” and Stagecoach welcomed Sam back for their 2016 festival.
Through all this he’s started production on his second album and keeps a regular tour schedule with upcoming appearances across the U.S. and abroad.
