Vinner av Den norske solistpris: Ludvig Gudim m/Håvard Gimse - Lysøen

Winner of the Norwegian Soloist Prize: Ludvig Gudim
with Håvard Gimse
In 2016 violinist Ludvig Gudim gained not only the title Virtuos (virtuoso) but also the Norwegian Soloist Prize. This concert in the Bergen International Festival is part of the prize.

Ludvig, who has his eighteenth birthday in 2017, started playing the violin at the age of five. He has already had solo performances with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra, the TrondheimSoloists, Oslo Camerata and Forsvarets musikkorps. As a keen chamber musician Ludvig has also performed with Itzhak Perlman, Henning Kraggerud, Lars Anders Tomter, Dora Schwarzberg and Ivry Gitlis.

'Ludvig Gudim plays with technical finesse and maturity rarely found in such young musicians. He is a true minstrel in the best sense of the word,' says Bergen International Festival director Anders Beyer, who presented the prize at the Virtuos competition for classical musicians under the age of 19 run by the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation.

In Ole Bull's fairy-tale mansion Ludvig Gudim is accompanied by Håvard Gimse, who is recognised as an outstanding concert pianist in addition to being the preferred accompanist of many of Scandinavia's top artists. The programme includes works by Mozart, Brahms and – of course – Ole Bull.
