Welcome to our first training over four days here in Oslo! We are also so happy to welcome Trudy Johnston for the first time!
๐๐ฏ๐ผ๐๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ธ๐ผ๐บ๐ถ Hakomi is a mindfulness based method of assisted self-discovery. Hakomi is an experiential body psychotherapy method based on principles of non-violence, applied mindfulness and deep compassion in combination with insights from modern psychology and neuroscience.
We assist each other in discovering our unconscious believes and habits that create unnecessary suffering in our lives and relationships, which are no longer true or relevant. The method brings such beliefs into consciousness where they can be studied and transformed, leading to a sense of personal empowerment and a richer appreciation for life.
Itโs not about talking people out of their problems. In Hakomi, we donโt have long, speculative conversations with people about their troubles or history. A personโs emotional history is operating right now. It is written in the way we do things in the present moment, our style, our immediate, bodily interactions with the people and the environment that surround us.
The Hakomi method has developed easy, yet powerful practical exercises - often playful and pleasurable - that allow us to discover these patterns as they are operating in the moment. Hakomi relies on mindfulness of body sensations, emotions and memories. Sessions are always set in a safe, inclusive atmosphere where people of all kinds feel supported and welcome, based on the core values of gentleness, respect and acceptance.
๐ง๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ๐ฟ We are so happy to announce that this workshop will be guided by Trudy Johnston.
Trudy is at Hakomi practitioner and trainer from Lancaster, UK.
Her initial therapy training, in 1992, was in Polarity Energetics where she was informally introduced to the ideas of Ron Kurtz and the Hakomi Method. She loved the approach and was then fortunate enough to be involved in the first UK training of the Refined Method commencing in 2001, with Donna Martin, Bob Milone and Flint Sparks.
"For me Hakomi is a wonderful blend of my life long passions of finding ways to be fully embodied and living wholeheartedly. Itโs amazing to me how much Ron and his collaboratorโs findings dovetail so precisely with what we are learning through scientific research in neuroscience and neuroplasticity about what supports change and healing."

The workshop will be held in English.
๐ช๐ต๐ผ ๐ถ๐ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ธ๐๐ต๐ผ๐ฝ ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ? This workshop is open to anyone interested in exploring human experience and development. It will be accessible to both new and advanced students.
You will find the workshop valuable whether your focus is on your own personal growth, or if you want to acquire insights and practical tools for working with individuals, groups and human consciousness in a professional capacity, as therapist, teacher, nurse, coach, leader, artist, performer etc.
๐ช๐ต๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ผ ๐๐ ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ You can expect teaching to be primarily experiential. There will be short lectures, discussions, and demonstrations, but mostly, the group will do exercises designed to convey the ideas being presented in practical, experiential ways. These exercises sometimes bring up emotions. In those situations, the trainer and the assistants know how to guide and support the process.
