The conclusion of Trident Juncture, the large-scale NATO exercise in Norway, presents a timely opportunity to address NATO's readiness in the North.

The Readiness Action Plan (2014) set out to improve NATO's ability to respond swiftly and decisively to an attack on one of its member states. Four years later, it is still questionable whether NATO will be able to react at the speed of necessity.

The Norwegian Minister of Defence will open the conference by addressing NATO's role in Norway, before academic, military and political representatives will discuss NATO's decision-making procedures and ability to provide military support.
